• What size range of parts can you handle?

  We routinely machine very small parts (down to 0.010″ diameter) up to parts with diameters as large as 3″.

• What tolerances can you hold?

  We achieve tight tolerances: ±0.0005″ is common, and we can go as tight as ±0.0001″ on certain micro parts.

• What quality controls do you use?

  Our quality process includes contract review, Process FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), control plans, in-process SPC inspections, and final inspections. Each shipment includes:

  • Lot tracking / traceability
  • Certificate of Conformance
  • Material certifications
  • Certifications for any secondary processes (e.g., plating, heat treatment)

  YES! Most of our raw material used to produce our high precision machined components meets RoHS & REACG directives.

• Can you do PPAP documentation?

  Absolutely!  MPC has supplied the automotive industry for many years and we are well versed in PPAP documentation requirements.

• Are you ITAR registered?

  Yes!  MPC is fully ITAR registered and compliant.

• What do you need to provide for a quote?

  To get an accurate quote, please provide:

  • A 3D CAD file (e.g., STEP, IGES) or detailed 2D drawing
  • Material specification
  • Quantity
  • Any required tolerances or finishing processes
• Do you do prototypes and production runs?

  Yes — we have a Managed Inventory Program that allows on-demand shipments, safety stock, bar-code labeling, custom packaging, and more to help control your inventory costs.

• How long does it take to get a quote?

• Can you quote secondary processes such as plating and Heat Treatment?

  Yes! We routinely provide our customers with high precision parts complete to print including various secondary treatments, such as nickel or gold plating, passivation, heat treatment and more!

• Your high volume pricing is attractive, but we can’t use all those parts at one time. Do I have options?

  Yes, MPC has customized inventory management programs that give our customer’s total flexibility and on time delivery.  Your line never goes down because of long lead times or other unexpected issues.

• Can you provide short run, quick delivery? What about prototypes?

  Yes! We have multiple short run options for either prototype runs or small runs as low as 5 pcs with delivery in as little as 2 weeks.

• What are your minimum/maximum outside diameters?

  We can machine high precision parts from .010” to 2.55” in diameter.

• Who do I talk to with technical questions or quality concerns?

  Our staff has over 50 years of experience in the precision machining industry and can assist you with design challenges or efforts to improve product quality.

• What is your Managed Inventory Program?

  MPC custom designs stocking programs based on your specific needs and goals allowing your procurement department to focus on more important issues.  These programs reduce lead times, increase order efficiency, reduce costs, AND offer “on demand” supply of our high precision components.

• Can you manage all of my machined part needs?

  We are your single point resource supplying everything from low to high volume, simple to complex or tight tolerance machined parts!  No need to have multiple vendors – MPC can supply it all!

• Do you supply Certificates of Conformance?

  Yes, each and every shipment from MPC comes complete with Certificate of Conformance (CofC) as well as raw material certifications, secondary process (plating, etc) certifications.

• Do you supply First Article Samples?

  Yes!  We routinely supply 5-10 pieces of any new part at the beginning of the first order.  Each First Article includes a 100% dimensional inspection report on those samples, along with raw material & secondary certifications.

Engineering & Design Support

• Can you provide part design for manufacturability feedback?

  Absolutely. Our engineering team can review your part design and provide suggestions to optimize efficiency, cost, and manufacturability.

• What file formats do you accept?

  We accept PDF’s, common CAD formats including STEP, IGES, plus SolidWorks files.

Other Services & Logistics

• What secondary processes do you support?

  We provide threading, slotting/crimping, knurling, deep hole drilling, as well as finishing processes. We also provide high-quality surface finishes (mirror-like). NADCAP certified processes available upon request.

• How do you handle part packaging and delivery?

  We work with customers to meet specific packaging requirements, including custom packaging, bar-coded labeling, and drop-shipping. We also support flexible delivery schedules through our managed inventory program.

• What about design changes after quoting or production begins?

  We track design revisions carefully to ensure alignment at every step. Our team works closely with you to make sure changes are documented, reviewed, and implemented properly.

• Can you handle confidential / proprietary designs?

  Yes. We regularly work on sensitive, high-precision, proprietary components, and are happy to sign NDAs as needed.
