Tornos Cam Machines

Stock: Bars; 3 meters (10’) in length
Automatic bar loaders for 24 hour non-stop, tight toleranced production

Tornos Cam Machines:

M4  ( .195” dia. max )
M7  ( .295” dia. max )
R10 ( .452” dia. max )

Some machines have the following attachments:

  • Spindle stop for cross drilling/milling
  • Polygon for special shapes, slots and threading
  • Transfer arms for pick up/back drilling

Process:

The Tornos cam machine is the traditional machining method for “turning” metal. This machine technology may appear outdated with the introduction of high-speed CNC machines, however, our ability to make very complicated, high precision components on a low cost machine, is our strength.

Material spins at 6,000-12,000 rpm’s. Radial cutting tools form outside diameters based on the shape and movement of cams. 3-5 stations for drilling, threading and milling the end of the part are located opposite the exiting material. (not shown)
